Use Llaves only for files you own or have explicit permission to recover. Do not use it to access someone else’s documents, accounts or systems without authorization.
One form, different results
The recovery form identifies supported options locally. Depending on the file, it can prepare an accessible copy, show a stored legacy database password, export VBA source, or offer a cloud search for an opening password. Unsupported or damaged files can fail analysis or preparation. A file extension alone does not establish support.
Local methods have different outputs and limits:
- Supported PDF permissions and readable Office editing restrictions can be removed in a separate copy.
- Supported XOR-obfuscated legacy Excel/Word files can produce readable copies without returning the original password.
- Jet 3/4 Access headers can expose a stored database password; this does not validate or export database tables.
- Supported readable VBA projects export source text. Macros are never executed; binary form resources and compiled code are not rebuilt.
- Traditional ZipCrypto ZIPs need an exact unencrypted original of an eligible stored member or a reference ZIP with exactly matching compressed bytes. Every member must validate before download. Comments, extra fields and some attributes may be omitted.
- Direct 40-bit key searches support PDF revision 2 and Office 97 binary RC4 DOC/XLS. They can take days or longer and produce a decrypted document rather than the original password. Progress can be paused and explicitly downloaded; closing the tab loses unsaved progress and results.
Local inputs are limited to 16 MiB and expanded ZIP/output contents to 64 MiB. ZIP recovery stops after ten minutes without a progress report from the engine, rather than after ten minutes of total searching. Other operations have processing and format limits. Direct key search uses bounded chunks and progress rather than a fixed total deadline. Removing protection can invalidate signatures. Document copies preserve embedded scripts, macros and attachments; they do not sanitize files. Check generated copies in your usual app before relying on them. No method promises to repair damaged files or bypass unsupported modern encryption.
Paying for a prepared copy or saved password
Checking your file is free. We prepare supported local results before checkout. Once a result is ready, the launch price is $9.99 USD for one file and the result you choose, before applicable tax, to unlock its download or password display. There is no subscription or account requirement. A failed local preparation does not create a purchase or charge. Local payments confirmed more than 14 days after their order was created are refunded rather than granting access. Checkout and verification need connectivity even though file processing stays on-device.
A purchase is tied to its original file and chosen method. Retrying the same checkout, checking payment status, or recomputing and downloading the same result during its access period does not require another payment. Keep the file tab open during checkout; prepared files and credentials are not saved automatically. If a paid result cannot be delivered, contact support with the purchase reference.
Paying for a password-search attempt
Cloud recovery returns a password to use with your original file. The launch price is $9.99 USD per document recovery attempt, before applicable tax, with up to five minutes of password searching. Startup and queues can add to total turnaround time. A returned candidate is checked locally before being shown as recovered.
Payment buys a bounded attempt, not a guaranteed password. An attempt that completes without a match is charged. Service failures that prevent completion receive a full refund; refunds can take additional time to appear with the payment provider. Cancellation after a search starts does not promise a refund. Duplicate payment notifications or retries do not entitle the purchase to another search.
The selected route and final price are shown before payment. Llaves does not automatically buy a second service when a method fails. Closing a tab does not cancel a cloud search; use the cancellation action and wait for server confirmation.
Payment and returning to a purchase
Stripe Managed Payments processes payment, with Link acting as merchant of record. Checkout displays the final amount, applicable tax, available currency and payment terms. The price shown when you buy applies to that purchase. For file recovery or unexpected results, contact Llaves support.
Use the same browser and its purchase cookie to resume an existing order. The purchase cookie lasts 30 days and is renewed when checkout is created or retried. Paid local-result access lasts seven days after payment; reselect the exact original and required references to recompute a result lost from memory. Cloud passwords are available for up to 72 hours after recovery. Save your downloaded file or verified password before leaving.
Privacy and support
Review what leaves your device before checkout. Original files and local outputs remain on-device. For help, contact [email protected] with the purchase reference; attaching the private document is not required.
